Why bother with goggles?

It was cold enough this morning (-3F)–not to mention yesterday–to break out the goggles for the ride to work.

I don’t know why I bother, frankly.

Besides being uncomfortable and limiting in peripheral vision, I can usually get about 3-4 miles into my ride before they have to be shifted to what I consider their most common and useful position.

Why? Because that’s about when I start to get warmed up enough to fog my glasses. The goggles stay clear, of course.

Time to explore other options. I had a hair-brained idea about using a thin piece of clear or amber plexiglass to my winter helmet with velcro. Perhaps I’ll give that a shot.

Also, anyone want a pair of goggles, cheap?
