After barely riding much due to illness and its side-effects, I finally got out for something other than a commute yesterday.
(All photographs by ML, since his turned out better than mine.)
True, it was a short and often-times very slow ride–about 30 miles at about 11mph–but it was a ride nonetheless. And, I was able to test myself a little on a few of the hills on the route, just to see how my legs–and the rest of me–reacted. I’m cautiously optimistic.
The conditions were perfect. Sunny and high 40s when we left, sunny and 60s by the time we returned. And we punctuated the ride with a nice, long coffee stop–one that would have been made better only by outdoor seating.
Note to Barrique’s in Fitchburg: you need a bike rack in front of the cafe. Badly.
